| Description: |
The Prince George’s County Public School’s Technology Training Team launched, in the 2007-2008 year, the Sharing Technology with Educators Program (STEP), designed to build capacity for instructional technology use in our schools with a focus of supporting and enhancing student achievement.
At the start of this school year twenty-two schools were selected for this year’s program, nine of which were returning schools. All teams received training on Web 2.0 tools including Wikis, Blogs and VoiceThread. In addition, schools new to the program received document and digital cameras, as well as training on how to incorporate them into instruction.
Training was delivered by the Technology Training Team. Through careful planning and collaboration, school teams integrated STEP resources into regular classroom routines. To date, 42 schools and over 220 teachers and administrators have benefitted through receiving tools and training on how to use technology to meet instructional goals through STEP. |
