American history is linked to period classics, such as "Johnny Tremain" and "To Kill a Mockingbird." To accomplish the objectives of looking for common themes throughout our history, most importantly the search for the American Dream among the adolescent main characters in the novels, and how we can apply our history to better our present, we decided to have students create video broadcasts. By conducting interviews with the main characters years after the ending of their stories, students were able to actively relive history and project the characters' reflections on their experiences and offer advise to future generations. The results were impressive for both students and teachers, supporting the power of video creations in learning."){kind=small}
